Two special materials are used in the manufacture of RECARO racing shells: Highly stable glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) and ultra lightweight carbon Kevlar Material, which is used ina maximum strength. The outstanding stability of RECARO racing shells is achieved by a special heat treatment process in which excess resin is removed from the heated material under vacuum conditions. This results in extremely high stability of the seats under load while keeping weight to an absolute minimum. The latest technology is used to protect the matrial in the subsequent processing steps. For example, a robot-controlled, high pressure water jet is used for cutting and shaping.
